As customary, the Winnipeg Jets' rookies will take part in the three-day annual Young Stars Classic from Penticton, B.C. beginning Friday. 

The group of prospects attending the trip to British Columbia skated at Winnipeg's Bell MTS Iceplex Thursday afternoon, prior to taking off for the west coast. The group of 21 players is highlighted by Kristian Vesalainen, Logan Stanley, Jansen Harkins and Giovanni Vallati.

The Jets' prospect team will play the Vancouver Canucks' prospect team at 9:30 P.M. central time, immediately following a game featuring the University of B.C. and the University of Alberta at 6:00 P.M. The Jets will then have Saturday off, before returning to play the Canucks at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday.

Manitoba Moose Head Coach Pascal Vincent will be coaching the prospects at the Young Stars Classic, while Eric Dubois, Marty Johnston, Richard Bue and Rick St. Croix will provide assistance. 2000-born goaltender Duncan McGovern of Winnipeg will be Manitoba's only tournament representative on either team.
