The 2019 Heritage Classic will feature the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames facing off on October 26th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, SK.
As originally announced in early January, tickets for the event will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10:00 AM central on Thursday, April 25th. Official tickets will only be available through Ticketmaster.
It has been three years since the last Heritage Classic, as the Jets played host to the Edmonton oilers on October 23rd, 2016 from Investors Group Field in Winnipeg. Prior to that, Vancouver held the 2014 Heritage Classic, while Calgary hosted the second such event in 2011, after its conception in 2003 in Edmonton.
Mosaic Place opened its doors for the 2017 Canadian Football League season, and is the newest football stadium in Canada. Sharing the large space with the Regina Pats and the Regina Soccer Association, the Saskatchewan Roughriders play nine home games at the stadium each season. The 2020 Grey Cup will also be held in Regina.
After opening up pre-sale tickets to members of the Jets and Flames season ticket holders earlier in April, regular tickets for the upcoming event are expected to go quickly. With the venue situated nearly exactly in between Calgary and Winnipeg geographically, home 'field' advantage will be given to the team with the most fans in attendance.
Ticket prices range from $156 - $958, with the average cost coming between $200 and $350. With roughly 33,000 seats available, the look of the 2019 Heritage Classic will appear very similar to that of the game played in Winnipeg in 2016, in which 33,240 fans gathered for the late-October Canadian spectacle. The game is estimated to bring in roughly $15 million for the local Regina economy.
