Forward Riese Gaber of the Dubuque Fighting Saints will be joining the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks in the 2020-21 season.

On Monday, the Gilbert Plains product announced that he had officially committed to the NCAA Division 1 college hockey program after he finishes up his United States Hockey League junior career with Dubuque. The 19-year-old spent the last two seasons playing in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with the Dauphin Kings and the Steinbach Pistons.

In 101 career MJHL regular season games, Gaber collected 41 goals and 83 points. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound winger also put up three points in three RBC Cup games with the Pistons last spring following their Anavet Cup victory over the Nipawin Hawks. This season, through 26 games of the USHL schedule, Gaber has 10 goals and 22 points for the Fighting Saints.

"We are happy Riese found a fit with North Dakota," said Dubuque Head Coach Oliver David in a press release. "He had interest from more schools not, since arriving at Dubuque - no doubt because of his dynamic skillset and work ethic. Riese has been a pleasure to coach and we look forward to working with him over the course of the next two seasons before he arrives at UND in the fall of 2020."
