Sadie Somers of the Winnipeg Avros is this past week's best player from the Manitoba Female Midget AAA Hockey League.

The 17-year-old grade twelve student only dressed in two games for the Avros this past week, and came up empty handed in strong performance Friday night in Winnipeg's 2-1 victory over the Ice. Somers then scored two of her team's three goals in regulation on Saturday in the Avros' 4-3 shootout win over Central Plains.

Somers - a Winnipeg native - is in her second season with the Avros of the MFMHL. In 2017-18, the power forward had six goals, 14 points, 24 penalty minutes and 96 total shots on net in 33 games. So far, in eight regular season games this year, Somers has picked up four goals and six points.

The Avros sit seven points out of first with four wins and a shootout win in eight contests, placed just above the Winnipeg Ice and Interlake Lightning. Somers and her running mates will not see action until Wednesday, November 21st, when the Pembina Valley Hawks make their way to Seven Oaks Arena for a 7:15 P.M. showdown for the battle of fourth place.
