The Winnipeg Jets have assigned defenceman Sami Niku and goaltender Eric Comrie to the Manitoba Moose. Following a season in which the Jets relied on four different goaltenders to pick up victories due to injuries, Comrie is expected to be with the Moose for the remainder of the season and playoffs.

It has been a whirlwind few days for Finnish defenceman Sami Niku. Just days after his first NHL call-up from the Manitoba Moose to the Winnipeg Jets - in which he scored his first career NHL goal on his first shot - the 21-year-old blueliner was named to the AHL's All-Rookie team alongside fellow Moose rookie forward, Mason Appleton.

The 2017-18 season has been a memorable one for Manitoba. Other than their current five-game slide, the Moose have maintained first place in the Central Division for the better part of the American Hockey League season.
