The American Hockey League has announced its playoff schedule for the 2018 Calder Cup.

The Manitoba Moose will face off against the 2017 Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins in a best-of-five series beginning at Bell MTS Place on Saturday April 21st.

Manitoba Moose star forward and 2015 sixth round selection of the Winnipeg Jets, Mason Appleton has been named the 2017-18 recipient of the Dudley Garrett Award - an honour highlighting the year's most outstanding rookie in the American Hockey League.

The accolades just keep rolling in for star Manitoba Moose defenceman Sami Niku. After already making franchise history with his point production as a rookie defenceman, the 21-year-old Finn has done it again.
