    The University of Manitoba Bisons men's hockey program is thoroughly enjoying its stay in Scotland, Ireland and England. After falling to the Manchester Storm in its opening game, the Bisons struck back in their second contest.

    The University of Manitoba Bisons men's hockey team will begin its preseason schedule on the other side of the world. Following similarity in the footsteps of the women's hockey team (who travelled to Finland in 2017), the Bisons will fly to the United Kingdom for exhibition contests with teams from the British Elite Ice Hockey League. 

  • It was a run like no other for the University of Manitoba Bisons women’s hockey program this year.

    Preparation for the 2017-18 season began in mid-July, and on Sunday, March 18th, the University of Manitoba Bisons female hockey team won its first national title in program history.

    Both Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba will be represented by Bisons' forward Alanna Sharman at the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase in Calgary this coming August.

    Every year the coaches of the eight Canada West women's hockey teams submit their votes for the annual preseason league rankings. On Monday it was announced that the University of Manitoba appears to be a heavy favourite heading into the 2018-19 hockey season.

  • It was announced on Wednesday that Jon Rempel, Head Coach of the University of Manitoba Bisons’ female hockey program has been named Coach of the Year for U-Sports women’s hockey. This Coach of the Year award was Rempel’s first, who has been serving at the helm of the women’s hockey program at the University of Manitoba for the past 14 years.

    The University of Manitoba Bisons will receive some help on forward, but it they will have to wait another year before it comes their way.

Following an interesting Saturday, in which teammates Ben Chiarot and captain Blake Wheeler exchanged shots, words, cross checks and punches mid practice, the team resumed their daily schedule with Sunday's optional morning skate.

    The national champion University of Manitoba Bisons women's hockey team will look a little different for the 2018-19 hockey season. No, the players will not be wearing either of their gold medals over their jerseys on the ice, but they will have a fresh face giving orders behind the bench.
