On Friday it was announced that the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips had come to terms on a standard player agreement with 2018 draft pick, forward Carter Halamandaris.
Halamandaris, 15, was selected by the Silvertips in the fourth round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft this past May. The 5-foot-10, 150-pound forward originally from Portage la Prairie, spent the past two seasons playing with the Winnipeg Monarchs Bantam AAA team, after playing AA with the Winnipeg Twins.
In 57 total regular season games within the Monarchs' system, Halamandaris has 44 goals and 84 points over the last two years of play. In 2017-18 alone, Halamandaris had 34 goals and 59 points in 30 games, or 1.97 points-per-game. He had 15 multi-point games, and eight multi-goal games, leading the Monarch in points, and finishing the season ninth in league scoring.
"When I first came to Everett with my family, I instantly fell in love with the city and the organization," Halamandaris said in a press release. "I knew from that point, I wanted to be an Everett Silvertip. I'm looking forward to the next steps ahead, and thank my friends, family and coaches who have given their support every step of the way."
Everett finished the 2017-18 season tops in the WHL's U.S. Division with a record of 47-20-5, and an incredible 246-167 goals for/goals against ratio. The Silvertips kick off the 2018-19 season with a two-game home and home against the Vancouver Giants on Friday, September 21st and 22nd.
