The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has announced its players of the month of March. In selecting a Defenceman of the Month, a Goaltender of the Month, a Rookie of the Month, Performer of the Month and an overall Player of the Month, four dedicated Manitoban junior hockey players have been recognized for their efforts this past calendar month.

The Winnipeg Blues accomplished Sunday what many onlookers may have touted as 'impossible', in defeating the three-time defending Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Portage Terriers in just six games.

A familiar hometown face on the Virden Oil Capitals will be heading south of the 49th parallel for the 2018-19 hockey season/school year. Third-year left-shooting forward for the Oil Caps Tyler Kirkup has earned himself a Division One university scholarship with the Bemidji State Beavers men’s hockey team.
